The German government had ordered three F-28 Mk.5000Cs, a new version based on the Mk.1000 with a cargo door, from Fokker for the Luftwaffe.
The VFW-Fokker 614 had made its first flight on July 14, 1971, it was a German design for small airlines that made short flights. Fokker cooperated with VFW for the development of this aircraft.
The German government to support the VFW-Fokker 614 changed the order of the F-28 Mk.5000C for three VFW-614. One of the F-28s was cn 11106 which was reassigned to Garuda Indonesia, registered PK-GVW. It was then sold to Piedmont, identified as N273N. Transferred to US Air as N453US. It was eventually acquired by Time Air in 1991 and received the registration C-FTAV.
Actually Time Air Historical Society is making an effort to preserve the exact aircraft. The aircraft will be at cornerstone of our Aviation Museum and Event Centre.
